History
The cement plant in Horné Srnie, founded in 1883 by Giovanni Pisetto, gradually evolved from a limestone quarry into a modern cement factory. Throughout its history, it has undergone several modernizations and expansions, including the launch of cement production after World War II.
1885
FOUNDING OF LIMESTONE MINING
Giovanni Batista Pisetta founded a local limestone quarry, from which he supplied limestone blocks for railway construction.

1895-1917
CEMENT PRODUCTION LAUNCHED
Pisetta built the first brick kilns for clinker burning, thus commencing cement production in Horné Srnie.

1929
NEW CEMENT PLANT BUILT
A modern cement plant was built with a capacity of 100 tons of clinker per day and equipped for cement production.

1945
PRODUCTION AFTER THE WAR
After the end of World War II, the cement plant in Horné Srnie was the first in Slovakia to commence cement production.

1959
MODERNIZATION AND EXPANSION
Major modernization of the plant with the construction of four shaft kilns, a raw material mill, and other facilities.

1994
EMISSION REDUCTION THROUGH ELECTROSTATIC PRECIPITATION
An electrostatic precipitator was commissioned, which reduces emissions and ensures that the plant emits fewer emissions than Western European cement plants.

2000
Commissioning of a new line
Commissioning of a new rotary kiln line with a capacity of 1200 tpd.

2004
SAF AND REDUCED Cr6+
Commencement of utilizing Solid Alternative Fuels (SAF) for clinker burning and the reduction of Cr6+ content in cement.

2018
Acquisition of Mojtín Quarry
Ensuring raw material independence for production from external limestone suppliers.

2024
EXPANSION BY THREE CONCRETE PLANTS
Acquisition of two concrete plants (Púchov and Považská Bystrica) and commissioning of a newly built concrete plant in Bzenica.
