Nearly 700 artworks from 400 schools across Slovakia—once again, young artists impressed us with their creativity and imagination.

The Children and Architecture project, organised under the patronage of ASB magazine, is a meaningful initiative close to our hearts at CEMMAC. This year, we once again became part of the project—not only through financial support, but also through our active participation in the expert jury.

The theme of this year's competition, “Wood in Architecture”, inspired an extraordinary variety of creative works. Children were not afraid to explore demanding topics—from retirement homes and police stations to magical tree houses.

We were impressed by the diversity of artistic techniques used, including watercolours, collages, graphic prints, and assemblages.

As the chairwoman of the jury, Bohunka Koklesová, Rector of the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava, stated:

"The works that reached the final stage went beyond artistic expression—we could sense the children's thinking about buildings and architecture."

From almost 700 submitted entries, the expert jury selected 20 outstanding artworks that stood out for their originality, creativity, and the imagination of their young authors.

The award-winning young artists, together with their parents, have been invited to a ceremonial exhibition opening and a themed architecture tour of Bratislava, taking place on 15 May 2026.

We believe that initiatives like this help children see the world around them from a different perspective, develop critical thinking, and discover architecture and their environment in new and inspiring ways.

We are proud to be part of a project that enriches education and supports the creativity and development of the younger generation.
